Just curious as how to the Benchmade Rant pleases/displeases its users.... I have one, but I have very limited use with it thus far. It's a VERY comfortable knife and came with a great edge. SO....

What do YOU think about it??

I am also interested in people's thoughts about the Rant, Bush-haus, how about a little mini review based on your limited experience?

So far, seems to hold an edge well. The ergos are great, most likely the best of any knife I own at the moment. the other knives I own are larger, and have comparably larger handles. For the price, it seems to be a great knife to own and bring with you.

As far as the specs, if i remember correctly Benchmade used 440HC for this model, but it is in the lower class of the Benchmade series. The blade is full tang, however the handle material does cover the whole handle portion of the tang.

I have the drop point version of the Rant. Much more attractive and useful profile for me. I have not used it enough to rub the black coating off of the blade. The coating is very smoothe. I like it a lot. The sheeth is OK for a leather sheeth but rides a little high on the belt. I keep it in my pack as of now for this reason. I might, at a future point, get a new sheeth for it.

If anybody has extensive experience with this knife, let me know how it performed for you. As of now, I will continue to find uses for it....

I have 2 Rants: An older drop point in 440C, and a newer bowie style in N690. Both perform very well, but I like the drop point blade better for general utility tasks. The handles on both are comfortable and very grippy -- ergo's are great. Overall, the Rant is a great user for the price.
