Do you like your Spyderco Paramilitary 2 blade tight?

Playing around with my knife i find that i like the pivot screw a little tighter than looser. If the pivot screw is loose to where the blade can open easily when flicking, it causes slight blade play. i'm not much of a flicker so i guess its why i like the pivot screw tighter.

Nope, I like it to fly out. I try and find the sweet spot with no play and smooth action. To each his own though.

If you want it to fly out, do you have to play around with all of the screws or just the pivot screw?

I like mine to swing freely open and closed upon execution of the compression lock. If you adjust the pivot screws just right there should be zero up and down blade play, there is an ever so light side to side play, but that is due to the pivot bushing. No need to adjust any other screws.

When you say zero up and down play, with the blade fully open?

My PM2 is dialed right in to that sweet spot where I just touch the Spydie Hole and it flies open and locks up perfectly.
So little to complain about in the PM2.

Mine is set up so it flicks open easily with the index finger, yet it locks up when opened with no blade play in any direction.

Keep in mind that you can tighten up both sides of that pivot screw.

So use two tools and tighten it up just until there is no blade play when opened, yet it will open freely.

That is the "sweet spot" being referred to. Can you achieve that with your PM2?

VERY slight turns of the tools when close is how to get there.

So I'll have to take off the pants clip to access the other side of the pivot screw?

This!

Sorry I meant both sides of the pivot (a screw on both sides).
