Sitting in my hotel room. Flew out of town for work. Didn't want to chance a CRK in my luggage. Looking at a new toothbrush box and can't figure out how to get through the cellophane.......looking at an apple I bought......how do I eat that?........dirty fingernails.......I'm useless!!!! What's happened to me? Who'd have thought that pocket would feel so empty? :(:D

It's not so bad. Just go down into the hotel kitchen and borrow a knife...return it when you leave.
Maybe you should carry a RAT2 or a Spydie Chicago in your bag...next time...
:)
I wouldn't want to lose a CRK either...

When I travel, and don't want to check luggage, after landing I go to the nearest gas station and buy a jarbenza to use for the week.

I was out of town last week for 5 days. I only took a small carry-on. I didn't bring my sebenza or any knife nor did I bring my Hinderer pen. I felt lost. I kept reaching for my pocket just to see if it was there. So sad.

I sort of know the feeling. Whenever I get to a city away from home I either pack a SAK in my check in, or buy one when I get into town if I just did carry on.

Question. If I were to pack a small knife such as a Dragonfly into my Stored luggage (not carry on), would I be ok or will the athorities rasie a fuss and arrest me?

I stuffed a case full of CRK's in it when I flew out for a months work and didn't have any trouble at all!

You can just buy one and throw it directly into the garbage if you want the experience without going to the airport.

They will take it from you at security.

Never had a problem with a knife packed into checked luggage. My problem only occurs when I don't want to check my luggage and cannot bring a knife. That being said, I don't want to check a sebenza or other knife of value in case a TSA agent feels like collecting souvenirs or growing their collection.

Yes. Only got to use my Insingo for about 5 days before I sent her back to BladeHQ for a different one because of a pretty noticeable off center blade. They wouldn't swap it out since I took it apart (thinking it would fix the centering), so they sent it back to CRK to get it fixed. It's been a little over 5 weeks and I really just want it back so I can use it! I do understand that CRK is a busy company with a lot of knives to process so I'm being patient. Waited about 10 months to get it in the first place so whats a few more weeks? Fortunately I just got a new Ontario Model 1 folder in coyote brown that's actually been incredibly enjoyable to carry...fantastic knife at $100....but $35 makes it the best folder money can buy IMO.

If you don't fly with checked luggage, make it an opportunity to buy that knife you want, use it while on the trip and then mail it back to yourself before heading to the airport for your return.

Your checked bags won't be going through security with you. I know they x ray checked bags but never had a problem with a checked knife.
