Do you miss your classic CIVIVI "Baklash"❓
How about a black knife carry to match the Friday❓😉

I never liked the blue liners. Those kept me away. So I bought the Naja instead and that worked out. I was blown away by the quality for the price. It was comfortable in hand and delightfully slicey for its size. It quickly took over the "large folder" end of my EDC rotation. The surprisingly good edge retention sealed the deal. You became my go-to for budget knife recommendations.

When you released the ebony Baklash with black liners, I bought one right away. I'm glad that I did. It was another home run. I still think it is one of your best designs. I'd love to see more versions, especially with premium steels and other scale materials.

Imagine in a Baklash in M390 or 20CV with Micarta scales (no blue liners)... It would feel like Christmas. 🎄

Theres a baklash in 154CM, which is good enough for me...but it's got super heavy brass handles. One of these days, might try to re-blade it :P

CiWEvi how about just make one in 154CM or S35VN with G10 or Micarta and save me the trouble?? :)

I don't have experience with their 154CM and my S35VN Elementum is still on the factory edge. From what I hear and what I've seen in testing, WE does a decent job with their S35VN. The heat treatment seems to be on the better side of average for mass-production.

The issue for me is that their 9Cr18Mov is truly exceptional. WE has done for 9Cr18Mov what Bos has done for Buck's 420HC. The difference is that with 9Cr18Mov as a starting steel, the results are outstanding. Edge retention for WE's 9Cr18Mov gets up into the same ballpark as your average mass-production S35VN.

So unless the "premium" upgrade is something fun like S110V or 20CV, I'd have a hard time arguing with a $40-60 version in 9Cr18Mov. For instance, the Baklash with ebony scales is like $55. It behaves like a "premium" knife. Just offering the 9Cr version in Cuibourtia or Micarta would make my day.
