Do you only buy large Busses with Mags?

I haven't had much using experience my new FBM, but I do wonder what percent of Busse hogs prefer the magnum handle? For the smaller knives it is somewhat irrelevant, but on the bigger knives it seems to be a fairly significant. Do you always order your BMs, SHs, and NO with mags?

Thanks
Luke

Fat for skinny, and skinny for fat.

Words of wisdom from the Skunker.

Since the option has been available I get them on anything that they are available for. Small knife or large, stock thicness matters not. They all feel perfect to me:D

Must have Mags as I wear size 2XL gloves.
Would not bother me if the Mag handles were even thicker !

For me it depends on the model. I can use either comfortably. I think it is purely a personal preferance but ai also think that unless one has tiny mits it is possible to adapt to either. For instance I would have chosen standard scales for my CG ASH-1 but I did not like their look. I loved the lok of the mags so that is what I chose. In this case it was a matter of aesthetics as I am sure both or either would suit me just fine

I sold a CG BATAC with regular snake scales the day after it arrived. It just didn't feel right to me and I do not have large hands. I later bought one with mags and decided that was the way to go. I get the mags on the larger knives for sure.

I like the mags on the SFNO. I'm still deciding on the new Badger mags - I wish they were more contoured instead of just thick.

For me its about the blade thickness like Skunk has said in the past. For the thinner knives I like the mags to fill out the grip. For the thicker ones I dont necessarily need such thick handles.

if you use your knkives hard and all the time in all weathers then std is the only way to go.

Depends on the handle style.

At this point, the Mag Handles have just felt better for me on the Fusion series. My hands are not HUGE, Large to XL in glove size, but the standard grips tend to feel too flat on the Fusion series. The Mag's contours seems to provide me with a firmer Grip. Pretty much the same experience with the TAC series.

On the Ergo blades, given that unless it's a custom shop piece didn't really have Mag handles, they feel amazingly comfy. Better than the Fusion series depending on the use. With the EDC blades (Meaner, AD, GW), I like the standard handles over the custom shop fatter handles as well. The smaller handles seem to give me more confidence when using them for slicing or other small utility work. I'll gladly reach for my OJ GW or my thinned out Ban modified Meaner, than my Fat Hog's Blood Warden or my custom shop AD (fat handle).

Sum it up:
Mags on Fusion and TAC series
Standard on Ergo series and EDCs

small to normal hands go standard or mag

if x large hand(length, not width) like mine go Mags for sure
