do you order throughout the year, or binge?

I tend to binge, not 'needing' a new knife for a while, then seeing something too cool to pass up. Past the first one, the floodgates open for a little bit. Also tends to be triggered by reevaluations of knives in the collection, out with the old, in with the new.

I give myself a knife on appropriate occasions, B-day. Father's day etc.
Since these days are spread through-out the year...

i usually pick up something new (whether i need it or not) every couple of months. i probably buy 4 to 6 new knives per year.

I get the itch every 6 months or so. Spend a lot of time dinking around reading, comparing etc (like right now) then buy one and forget about the forums or new models for a while.

deciding between bm 710 or 615 at the moment :)

Binge. It gets bad. I am always researching, but very skittish about buying. One purchase sets off another like dominoes... until my account gets low enough sanity returns... temporarily. :D

I guess you could say I "binge".

I alway order online, and due to shipping costs I try to pack as many knives into a package as I can afford. I usually make two or three orders a year, which I guess is pretty consistent, but each one is a little spending spree on it's own.

I do both:) I make several orders a month almost every month. I usually sell them if I don't like them to keep the money flowing, but I always lose a little on every sale/trade and when the money is gone I just stop until next month. This was a very good month for my collection, I spent my tax returns on my addiction (didn't intend to...at first) and ended getting more packages than I could keep track of, I would guess around 11-15, and I still have a couple on the way. This was a special binge that only happens once a year. I try not to spend too much on impulse, so I will try to cut it down to around 2-3 times a month, any really good deals are an exception though.

I binge through out the year. It's really getting bad:(.I'm starting to get behind on my bills.I'm gonna wait till April or May for my next knife. That would be the BM950:thumbup:

Mostly Binge , I behave myself for months , then watch out . Then a buddy of mine goes on a feeding frenzy !

Monthly for me, and special occassions, like celebrating the Sun rising every morning!:p:D:thumbup:

I am more of a binge type buyer. It is not by design though it is more a matter of finding stuff I like or stuff I have been looking for. It always seems to be that I find the stuff I want or have been looking for in groups. Plus you have to jump on the harder to find customs when you see them or you will miss out.

I am a binge buyer.I do my research to figure out what model I like. Then as soon as I have the money I spend all of it.Latley I've been using my beer money ,Oh well I guess it's good for my health to buy knives:D

My knife purchases are never planned. If I see something I like I buy it. Sometimes that may be 3 or 4 knives at one time. Mostly it's one at a time. As of this year I only purchased 2 knives.

I buy throughout the year, just whenever I see something I like and can afford.

I buy based on availability of money and rounding off my very small collection. I would like to have a "goodies" representation of what's out there... i.e., a good tactical folder, a good OTF auto, a good Side Opening auto, a good EDC, a good customs etc. That's how I work for now. I will never get to the point of having hundreds of knives... it's not for me.

Best wishes,
Edalb

I very rarely plan my knife purchases. Other than orders I have with makers.
