Do you prefer a push or pull type edger?

The title kinda says it all:)

Push-type being the one that looks like a two-prong fork, and the pull-type being the one with the hole.

It would be for use on 8 ounce veg tan leather (if it matters).

If you are kind of new at this you'll probably get along better with the push style. The other is supposed to cut both directions, but they rarely do. I used to use them on saddle skirts where I wanted to hog off a lot and round the edges completely. Just get yourself a #2 western edger and that will satisfy most if not all of your needs.

I have a Barry King that cuts nicely in both directions, and very easy to sharpen too.

Thanks Rayban and Claude, they sure look like fine tools but those are a bit pricy for me right now.

I've heard that there was a guy at a local flee market that often has leather tools for sale so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

In the past I've purchased used Starrett, Stanley, and Klein tools with practically no wear and only light surface rust for pennies on the dollar.
