do you prefer regular or anodized on a bm42?

i guess its kind of iffy because you dont know what exact colour an anodized will be... what do you like more?

I have the plain and the anodized, and personally I think the anodization looks tacky and doesn't feel as nice as the plain 42.

I have the 42A and I really like it, because it stands out. Although, I would like to get a plain also.

 
Anodized is a pretty finish however it does'nt last forever, after a while it fades but then again no two anodizings are alike and it can always be reanodized for a small fee. Even if you get the plain you can have it anodized if you want a little extra flash.

i have a 42as, and i am very fond of its pretty blueness.

it's kind of industrial/electronic/spacey-looking, but it grew on me. and it gets compliments.

I got the 42a because it was all that was in stock. I really like it. But now the safe handle is a much lighter color than the other. Personally, I think it'll look when the safe handle is almost plain Ti. Duo-tone bali!
 
I have a 42AS, and older BM in plain... I personnally prefer the anodized version because it's new, original, innovative, less traditionnal. The plain version looks very classical, traditionnal, rigid. It's nice too, but I prefer the modern aspect, the futurist aspect of the 42A.

Plain finish for me...

If someone could anodize something in black, I'd take it. Guess I'll have to wait for the black-handled BM's to come out, though. :rolleyes:
 
I had both for a while and ended up not liking the plain 42 anywhere near as much so I traded it away. Then again it didn't have the same sentimental value to me as my Amaranth.
 
I have one of each but I like the plain because I think it has a more classic look.
 
I prefer regular because it can be polished. I've taken my 42 apart a few times and have done my oun contoring and polishing, gives the knife a personal touch.
