Do You Prefer the Roll Mark/Stamped BK&T Markings, or the Laser Engraved Markings?

I ask simply because I have become aware that for those of us who may "customize" our knives, like I plan to do with one of my BK-11's (add jimping, bead blast, & refinish), that with the laser engraved markings, a bead blast to remove the original finish, or for those who intend to highly polish their knives, you will more then likely lose all identifiers; not so with stamped markings. So, if modifying/customizing your Becker is a possibility, which do you prefer?

Oh, and while it's generally understood by most, well...maybe most, that a pretty picture/logo/roll mark/engraving, or whatever has absolutely nothing to do with the performance capabilities of a knife, this thread is not about whether or not a knife will work any better or any less with or without the manufacturer's markings; it has everything to do with those who customize or modify their knives, and whether or not retaining the logos is a consideration.;)

I used to want stamped, but for me, the knife still works without the stamp. It's like taking the logos off a Tacoma, who cares? I'm still going mudding. But that's my own opinion.

I like them both. I will say that I like the heritage behind the stamped markings. I'll be stamping my customs when I can afford a stamp set.

Laser is stronger and doesn't bend the blade, so it gets my vote for those reasons and a few others. When you use it to process deer the laser etching is easier to clean out too. :)

I prefer the laser, too, as the stamp is pressed in. Of course, I have stamped versions that have done a lot of work with no problems, but I think the laser etching is just a smart move to eliminate that potential problem.

I have both. I prefer the stamped. Imo the new finish with the laser engraved markings makes the knife look cheap. The new finish does seem to wear better though.

I like the laser etching more. I think they look better when new and the coating wears out better. And as others have said, stamping can hurt the blade, so it is nice to know that that factor has been removed. But my stamped Beckers have no problems.

I like the laser etch. and i dont mind if i wear it off over time i kind of like the look of just a plain blade it seems the more markings a blade has on it the less i like the look of it As long as i knew it was the real thing i would be fine if they made them sterile without markings

+1 for the debadged Taco!... I hear it gets like 10 more hp!

and if u want to keep the markings, a couple of drops of pcb etchant on the logos will "burn" them to the blade, they will be there after a strip n sand job

I prefer the laser engraving, but I won't be getting rid of my old stamped ones anytime soon.

Stamped... etched.... written on with a sharpie... shiny holographic butterfly stickers... post it noted... its all about the same ;)

I prefer the looks of the roll stamped ones, but I love that they implemented the feedback from their customers and made their blades even more reliable with the laser engraving. So honestly, I couldn't care less. I'm happy either way.

After I see that BK9 broken ,just where the stamping is,I prefer laser engraving. It's a very small chance that will happen offten, but why risk. As someone mentioned, just a little acid etching on the logo and no problem of losing it.
