Do you register your new Bucks?

In a recent thread someone posted that Bucks quality was so good (or something along those lines) that they had stopped registering them, I assume for warrany purpose. That made me stop, think and wonder if there is any real reason to (register them) in any case?

I've not resistered even one that I have and never, when I've sent any in for warranty work, have I been asked if they had been registered. Since the vast majority of them have no serial number, I don't see how they could keep track of them anyway.

Is there any other reason to register them that I'm not aware of?

I always mean to register knives, but never get around to it. I think the main reason is market research, given the questions they ask. I bet if you register one you'd get on a mailing list. Might be a good way to score a free catalog.

Im reading a warranty card right now.
"sign up to be added to our warranty registration list and become part of the Buck Family"
It then goes on to say where to send you knife. It's more of a customer database for marketing than actual need for obtaining warranty work as I read it.

I never register anything.....knives or otherwise.

Never caused a problem yet.

:)

I registered my first custom shop 110 (Sambar Stag w. S30V) but have not done so since then. You don't need to register to get the warranty service. I sent in an AG 110 and an Al Buck 110 for warranty work and they did it no questions asked, no registration needed. The registration is to provide statistical information to Buck about their customers. They have it, no need to spend the time and paperwork for every knife.

That's kinda what I figured. It doesn't seem to matter as far as any warranty work goes if you are the original owner or the tenth or if it was ever registered or not.

At Buck at least you don't need to register to get service. I just keep all the paperwork so some day whom ever gets them when i'm gone can say, NIB with all paperwork;). Now the only problem they will have is what knife goes in what box......LOL.

Ain't that the truth!

What does "NIB" please somebody.
I don't register my Bucks any more. I got tired of the junk mail and email.

I have only registered one using the online option. It was a 307 NIB, so I don't know how much they could do from a warranty standpoint, anyway.
