Seeing another thread gave me an idea, unless it's been done before and i didn't know it...
This is my first knife. Made from a file in 1984, in Bakersfield California. A guy I worked with in the shop made one from a file and I thought I'd like to 'give 'er a go' so I made one too, caught the bug. 12" long, brass guard and pommel, bolted on by welding a 1/4" bolt on the end of the file tang and drawing it all together.

If I ever get the urge to make a knife from the blade blank through final polish I would keep it too. I am more into the scales than the knife as it seems 'everyone" makes knives but few specialize in the handle scales.......
