Does anyone who Uses their cgg CRKs think about how much area in the design can be scratched from use.

Some cggs like Expanded, Geographic, and Gold Leaf for example have cgg pattern that covers most of the scale....

Cggs like Elk Mountain, Glorious, and Meteor Shower have much more area that can/may get scratched.

When you buy a ccg to Use not collect do you think about the amount of area that will show scratches/marks ?

I'm going to buy a cgg that won't show too many scratches. I have a few cggs in mind now, I don't need any

suggestions, thanks.

I like Gold Leaf, Riddled, and Expaned all about the same.

I can't speak to the colored areas inside the graphics, but a 5 second bead blasting will erase any of the typical light Ti scratching we all see on raw Ti scales.

I've tried to think of some simple ways to prevent scratching since the alternative - not using your knife - sucks! Ultimately if you're really anal and slightly handy, you can keep your own fleet looking clean with a $75-100 small blast cabinet or even just make a simple outdoor rig.

If I buy a knife to use, no matter what it is, scratches and marks from that use are right at the bottom of my list of concerns. :)

I bead blasted the small Glorious I had to prevent it from getting scratched up, plus it just looks better (IMHO).

Haze, you're 1000% correct. Buy it to Use, not to put in a slip case, and worry about scratches.

I have had TONS of CGG/UG sebenzas, probably far more than most and have carried and used them the same as I do a plain one. Actually the shinny surfaces of the CGG/UG scratch less than the blasted stock finish. I do have a couple CGG/UG that I have not carried, but its not that I worry about scratches, its just that I am enjoying carrying others. I have a Native American & Stars and Stripes that I have not carried and are mint. The Native American has long been my favorite CGG. Have always been looking for another to use. I am currently carrying a In God We Trust & Dog Paws and am using and loving them all the way.........I do have a couple special CGG/UG large regulars that I haven't carried for obvious reasons, but that may change....:p
