Do you think LM could design a Surge with wire strippers in place of the scissors?

I love my LM tools. But I'm an electrician, and the V-style wire strippers are really only good as a worst-case backup. I never thought they could do much about it, but the scissors on the new Surge look like they might be big enough. I know they make a wire stripper version of the Squirt- the Squirt EL. Do you think they could make a Surge El?

Toolzall made an electricians multi-tool, I'm sure Leatherman could too. The problem is that there may not be enough of a market to sell them to:confused:

Leatherman has the Squirt EL from Radioshack. It's a small electrician multi-tool that's very handy. I always keep it on me to compliment a larger Leatherman multi-tool.

Yeah, thats kinda what I figured too. I think that it would make an ideal multi-tool though. And they add the scissors inside if they wanted too. Oh well, I guess I can just keep dreaming.

That's a neat little tool! Too bad Radio Shack is printed on it:thumbdn: As a rule I avoid their stuff:)

Leatherman should put that RadioShack EL out independently of RadioShack because that $39.95 price might be what's stopping LukeC from ordering one.

RadioShack Ad Text:

"Put a toolbox in your pocket.
This mini Multitool puts the power of nine tools in your pocket. This compact tool strips wire, cuts wire, contains spring-action pliers, screwdrivers, a knife, wood/metal file, tweezers, a bottle opener and has a key ring attachment.

* Pliers have spring-action so they're easier to use
* Sharp and precise wire cutter
* Strips 5 sizes of wire"

If I did occasional electrical work I'd want one.

I do very occaisional wire work, but the EL is so compact that I just had to add one to my keychain. It's easier than using the strippers on a typical multi and you're much less likely to strip off any skin!
