Do you think so the thicker blade means the stonger blade for bowie?

For example

ESEE Knives Junglas

Blade Max Thickness: 0.188

KA-BAR 1277

Blade Thickness: 0.25

Same material, heat treating may be similar
Who is stronger? Thickness is the most important factor?

If the steel is the same, thicker will of course be stronger.

However these are knives and there are trade offs with differing thicknesses.

Impossible to answer. Thickness means spine thickness. The grind and blade width will determine the thickness between the spine and edge.

Idk, I own the kabar and its plenty strong.

Are you looking to buy one of these knives??

But to answer the question, I bought my LHB over, the BK9 because of the thickness but in retrospect.. I really don't think It's that much of a factor: in the strength game. A well made knife of junglas thickness is pretty strong enough to the point where extra thicness doesn't add anything but wieght.

Yes, I am thinking about which on has more advantage before I make decision about which one is chosen.
And I also learned the HRC of ESEE edge is so high as to be easily broken than kabar. Do you agree with that is true?

Kabars are plenty hard for edge retention but lean to the soft side due to the nature of their use which is pretty much always abuse lol. That's what I buy em for anyway.

It should be noted that I don't own any ESEE but based on rep I would disagree.

There's no comparison between the knives, they're too disimilar.

I love my LHB, It's a beast. But if you have ESEE money I'd go junglas all the way. One major factor on that is the warranty.

Also. They aren't the same steel. Similar but not the same. LHB is 1085 which I really like. Think i may prefer it to the Cro-Van but it seems to rust easier.

A fairer comparison would be to weigh the junglas against a BK9 from Kabar-Becker knife and tool
They are more the same. The tang is the biggest difference here.

I went LHB over BK9 mainly because of cost and its beastly reputation. Have beat mine up and it still lives. But probably wouldve went a different route had i more $$$

Please excuse this sentence, posting from pbone. It sldoes weird things to me Think I may prefer it to the Cro-V

Ps, it seems to me like you're wanting some kind of 2012 SHTF unbreakable woods knife.

May I also suggest the KA-BAR JAB Potbelly?

In advance,Yes, I am a kabar junkie :)
