The Von Tempsky Bowie is one of my all time favorite big knifes. Looks badass, great steel (L6) and awesome differential heat treatment.

It would be awesome if Brian Baker added a kukri to the line-up.

What do you think, would there be enough potential buyers and could we convince him to do it?

of course, I'm talking about a real kukri, with a spine that's at least 3/8'' thick

You may have a bit of studying to do. Most traditional Nepalese kukri have a spine smaller than 3/8 and for good reason. With a spine that big [or bigger] it becomes a desk toy because it is too big and too heavy to use. You may see big huge kukri on the market today but not because it is better but rather because it is easier. The thing to strive for is in any model is correctness, NOT thickness. Good luck!

Eh, you find them thicker not so much because it's easier, but for the longest time that is what the western market demanded. We wanted big ol' sharpened pry bars that we could slam through anything, not those "weak" 1/4" spine traditional ones where we might have to use our brains a bit when we used them;)

That said, there seems to be a bit of a Renascence of the thinner more traditional khuk. What you give up in ridiculous strength you gain in something easier to pack and swing.

You're always going to have a choice of both types, and that's the beauty of the free market:) 1/4"spine L6 sounds like a fantastic knife:)

 Indeed, I thought the fat spine was the traditional one. But hey, I'm also happy with 6,3mm instead of 10mm. The Bowie nowadays seems to come in two thicknesses, 3/16'' and 1/4''...and the thick one is a monster, so I'm happy with that.

You won't need it that thick. Well if the weight is right why not? fullers and so. At 23Oz or less it's all fine and dandy.
Won't want to get the pants pulled down in the trail.

Not to mention the hefty price tag that comes with it.
