I received this " Sebertool m2 " the other day and I just don't really know what to make of it.
It came in an original plastic Sebertool M2 Box which could be suspicious, but I only paid $8 for it and I can't imagine going through the trouble of pairing a knockoff with an original box just to sell it for a measly $8.
It's a lot closer to a real Sebertool m2 than any kind of T5 I've seen, but off in a couple ways besides being sterile.

It's pretty much exactly as pictured on the " instruction " sheet it comes with as well as the one that came with my first M2, but is sterile.

You can see that this M2 is backwards compared to what's pictured in the instruction sheets .( was a Harley version, I stripped the black coating off )

This M3 is just as pictured in it's instruction sheet minus the Harley branding being on the opposite side.

Comparing it to my M3 ( wound up giving the first M2 away ) I don't really get the obvious impression that it was made somewhere else like I do with any pictures of the T5 that I've found online.

It's " mirrored " ( for lack of better words ) compared to my other branded Sebertool examples, but I have seen pictures of a few " mirrored " Sebertools online. I've also seen another identical example to this in the Sebertool M2 box, and other identical examples in different forms of Sebertool packaging with various company logos and such printed or etched on them.

Here's the sterile example which has no inside nubs and the edge nub is on the jaw piece.

And here's the M3 which has the inside nubs and has the edge nub on the handle piece instead of the jaw piece.

I'm guessing this is probably just an extremely late Sebertool M2 made just before the IDL acquisition, but I'd certainly love some thoughts and opinions.

The more I Google examples the more I think Sebertool was at some point putting out Sterile examples identifiable by their packaging.
Don't know why they'd leave the branding off the new dies when retooling or something though.

I have a M4 sebertool I had forgot about until I saw your post
never seen the other ones
cool little multitool

They're great little tools.

Just yesterday I learned about another one i didn't know about, the I2 SeberKnife which is literally just the knife side off of an M4 with a keychain attachment.
I believe it only came in a combo set with the M4 though.
Not sure why you'd need one and a half M4 Sebertools on your keys, but it's still kind of cool.
I like the idea of just a knife, #0 Philips driver, and 3/16 standard driver all In a very compact little size.

That's a real M2, the earlier model, I'd say 98/2000. I worked on those in Vista CA from 99 to 2004 and the models significantly changed as they where outsourced to china

Looks legit to me, just by the quality of the "MADE IN USA" stamping; it's deep, even and centered; these are things the copycats can't be bothered with. They would do some sort of cheesy laser etching, I think.

The one in question was the sterile top example.
If I remember correctly I found pictures of sterile examples online that were factory sealed in clamshell packaging telling me that this was in fact a real one.

I no longer even have that particular M2 anyways , I gave it to a forum member a few years back because it wasn't getting used and I had scored it so cheap.
I gave my 1st m2 away, 2nd m2, and my M3 away, bow I just have another M2 and my M4.
I don't remember who the forum member was, but whoever they are I hope they found that m2 useful.
