Title explains a lot:p
So i did a patina on the blade (wich i've already taken off) while the wrap was on there so that orange looking stuff could be rust or just a bit of colour from the paracord that has come of with the vinegar and is now on my blade..

Any opinions??

Its rust, I doubt very seriously if dye leached from vinegar soaked paracord would "color" steel. Rub a fingernail across it, is it rough? If it is, its rust.

That's what happens when you remove a perfectly good coating. :p:D

maybe on the other side of the world but We are on the same page
you got Rust ....only cure is to use it and oneday buy another Izula and this time don't strip her,no matter how she teases you ...resist the urge to remove her coat.:D

Can't rat sell the coating for ppl who want it??? Ppl who patina there knive usally don't casre about rust. But if you oil it should be fine? But why not sell the coating as DIY ??? Or would that just be a waste of time appying a recoat??

two specs of rust isn't hte end of the world, get yourself a 2 dollar silicone soaked rag from the gun shop and whipe it down every once in a while. that thing is fine.

This isn't Krylon from Walmart.
This is powder coat I believe which means you need an oven...
and I dont mean a pizza oven or an EasyBake oven.
You have a tool with a very high quality coat on it.
How many remove the paint from their car so they can recoat with primer for that cool "patina"? Sorry I dont mean to piss in anyone's Cherrios. The truth is I'm planning on removing the finish from my Izula and RC-5... one chip and wear mark at a time! :D

This has already been discussed numerous times on this forum.

Yeah I can't search yet. I would think it to be a waste of time but seems so many ppl worry about the coating it would be a ways to make $$. But if it's baked on doesn't matter anyway?? I was just curious.
