Greetings:

I'm curious to hear from people that use a hawk bill blade for pruning.

Do you have a favorite shape or design?

Is there a minimum length that you think is necessary?

Thanks,
Dave

Not for pruning. But have used it lots when I worked with leather. Carpet and linoleum installers swear by it.

Get a Vicaro Grande and you don`t need one there blade can surely handle most pruning jobs.

I usually use a Valtelina bladed folder, I have several in different sizes. These are generic folders much used for gardening/ agriculture in Italy. The blade is a full hook sharpened on the inside. Opinel make an ok pruning knife but I prefer more hook to the blade, also excellent is the CRKT Bear Claw. For heavier work I use a full sized bill hook. Highly reccommended for brush is a Big Country Hookr.
