Hey all - Wolf has posted a poll on the official Swamp Rat forum to see what the interest level is for a hard use folder. Go voice your opinion!!
 
Not overly interested, I'd rather see fixed blade runs. Folders have their place as simple cutting tools, but when it comes to hard use I'd much rather use a fixed blade. A smaller Swamp Rat blade, for sure! I'd love to see a three incher that makes light of the RC3's handle issues...
 
I'll just keep the 2 Rat Traps I have. Beat the crap out of one and hide the other in the safe.

Like a all Ti frame with a frame lock? What blade material?

Yes please, give me something I can carry every day! Every time I carry my waki I get dirty looks and people quickly hide their children..
 
The Rat Trap has already been made and I think it extremely unlikely we will ever see another folder from any of the three Busse family knives. I don't know what you mean by "hard use", but in my experience, the Rat Trap is just that--a fairly hard use folder that cuts VERY well. It is not an XM-18 or a Strider, etc., but it penetrates on a stab and cuts easier than those knives too, so there is a trade-off. Do you really need all the strength of an XM-18? I don't know that I have ever seen a broken one, but I don't think I have ever seen a broken Rat Trap either.
