do you worry about??

Come to Mass., like Smash05 wrote, no length limits here unless you visit Boston. Western Mass. has a culture of hunting and camping, so I don't worry about how I look wearing a sheath knife. People seem to be used to it, and if I'm camping/hiking, I'm dressed for it and don't come across as a criminal. You might even have an easier time getting a Mass. resident carry permit than a NYS carry permit, depending on your NY county.

nope. I dont worry. Regular citizens of the country known as Canada can legally carry sword length knives. Free & Sovereign individuals residing on the land mass know as Kanada can carry whatever they want, wherever they want.

Is everyone in Canada considered "free and sovereign"? I have heard this term used about people in USA, but you practically have to renounce your citizenship to become free.....

Delaware is a bit difficult to understand as far as the written law goes. We are not permitted to carry anything over a 3" folder concealed but it does not say anything in regards length for open carry. In fact it doesn't mention open carry at all so one is left to believe there are no restrictions on open carry.

State parks have a blanket 3" restriction and certain areas/city areas have restrictions. I do like most others here - I am smart about it, I carry the blade I want but I don't act like a wild man idiot while I am out and about. I only put my blade on my person or my gear when I am ready to hike or camp, I don't leave it on me in the car or when I go in to a store. I live in a pretty diverse area so there really isn't a true "culture" in the area.

Nope, don't care. Ever since I walked into a store with a CS Recon Scout on my side and a LEO just told me it looked cool and asked if he could see it. He didn't measure it or anything, just tested how sharp it was and handed it back.

I've been edc my rc 4, and that's what I've been using in the woods lately, I don't pay attention to laws!!!!

Never gave it much of a thought here in upstate NY. I imagine it would definitely raise eyebrows if I went into an Albany restaurant with one of my Busses hanging from my belt but even I think that would be weird. In the woods, no problem with any length blade. I figure if a hunter can walk around the forest carrying a shotgun I certainly should have no problem carrying a big knife.

In Indiana, there are no restrictions, but I keep the large knives and such out of sight when in public and 4" and under usually under a shirt. Only because it's becoming more and more common for someone to freak out and get scared at the sight of it. A friend of mine was in a mall, and bought a soft pretzel for his grandson. When they were seated in the food court, he took out his stockman pocket knife to cut the pretzle for the boy.
There was some woman who yelled "that man has a knife" and went to get a security guard. He told the guard that all he did was cut a soft pretzel, they made him put the knife away so as not to scare anyone.

Seems weird - you can pack a 20" golok/machete yet a 2.5" balisong or switchblade is illegal:confused:

Funnily enough Bruce that's the same as in Britain. Balisongs and switchblades of any length are illegal to carry.

Our EDC law is obviously very restrictive, a sub 3inch non locking folder, but participate in a "reasonable" activity and there's no maximum length law.

Nah, I tote along whatever I want without worrying about it. I suspect that unless you are acting suspicious or irresponsible, you wouldn't get hasseled. A lot of it depends on context too; out in the country, a knife on the hip is ordinary. In downtown New Haven, it would be weird.

this far west unless you're in Yuppieville (seattle or portland) you could walk through town with a rifle on your back and noone would give 2 rats. I've had park rangers, state troopers etc ask me about the knives I carry when I'm out and they don't care that I'm packing a tomahawk, two five inch knives and a 12 inch machete.

I do most of my outdoor adventures in a state park near where I live. I would hesitate to carry my SFNO LE sheathed on my belt (12.75 inches oal).

I honestly have no idea if or what the size restrictions at public hiking/camp grounds are around here. But I've never let that stop me from always taking a 10"-17" blade with me when hiking.

I just keep it hidden until I get a chance to go off trail and get away from the likelyhood of running into other people that may be freaked out by some dude in the woods carrying a large blade. :)

There are places that have blade length restrictions?

Strikes me as unconstitutional. I think we Wyomingites would mount an insurrection.

But I often carry my bigger knives in a pack just for convenience.

In the woods.:p
Good luck convincing the cops that a machete on your hip downtoen ain't a weapon.

But if I come back from a hunt and stop in at a store on the way home I dont take my knife off my belt and no body has ever givin me a second look.

That's okay, because of the intent. It was being used as a tool, so it is a tool still.
Different if you went home, changed, and THEN walked around with a big knife on the belt, at least in major cities.

not in the woods, no. Ill carry whatever the f i want in the woods. Especially after all those AT horrorstories.

riflemans hawk in my dominant hand, small fixed blade and a chopper on the belt, 3 - 10 folders and fixed blades all over my pack.......i would love to see some scum challenge me on the AT trail

I don't care about size restrictions, without getting political, they don't matter.

After camping or hiking I'll walk into any store with my knife belted on. Never had a complaint yet.

Maybe I'll change my tune if I ever get arrested for it.
