Recently I sent a number of my Sebenzas back to CRK for modifications (the double thumblugs) and resharpening. I am very impressed with the results I get when I get the knives back. I have a sharpmaker but I can't get the same edge as the one I get from CRK. I was considering getting a edge pro but for the same money I can send back my Sebby and keep it killer sharp for the next 10 years. Anyway, the point is that for my purposes sending them in to have CRK resharpen them works really well for me. So do yourself a favor and send your Sebbies for a tune-up/resharpening. For a relatively small amount of money, CRK will work wonders with them. I don't think that I will even take mine apart anymore. But, you need to have two, one to keep while you send the other one in. :D  ;)

Scott Dog,
I just had a conversation yesterday w/ the young man who does the sharpening at CRK. I too had been considering buying an Edgepro, I still am. Now I think that I will be sending my Sebenzas back to CRK.
I would still like to be able to put that kind of an edge on my other knives though. Do you think that the edgepro can do it?

Thanks,

Jason

geez.. thats half of the reason why I want another CRK... I REAlly want to send my sm.reg off, but don't wanna be w/out it! I don;t REALLY need another sm. so I figure a Mnandi will toll me over when I send it off.. hopefully...

CRK puts a convex, polished edge on the blade. From what I understand, a convex edge can only be hand done on a belt sander/buffing wheel. It would be extremely difficult to put a convex edge on a blade with a flat grinding surface such as an Edge Pro, Sharpmaker, or stone.
