Special thanks to Felix for hosting the pics for me! :D

The workmanship, execution, fit, finish, etc., are flawless, as usual on a Dobruski. I do wish the blade had been more 'dramatic' or more exaggerated with a narrower 'body' and a larger blade tip but, believe me, I can sure live with this one!

Grrrrrrrr!!:( :barf:

I guess you'll just have to pass it around so we can all take a look. Send it to me first, and I'll send it off to the next person in line here at the forums...

Here's the one from Taymo. But I suspect Dudley's pics are significantly better. Believe me, we all feel your frustration...

I'm after Blade_420.

I don't mean to pry, but how much did that pretty piece cost you? I'm looking to have one done to look like the "Pacific Style" bali. How does it flip? Do you flip it? I know it's a custom, so you might not want to. I would cause I'm not a collector, so....

Is it smooth like people say the Tachyon is? Or the swat?

Does he do custom blades? Like if I wanted an Imada High Hollow imitation or something. I just love those blades.

That Dobruski is very dice! Great buy!

Most of your questions can be answered by looking here: www.taymo.com/en

Mauro is excellent with communicating with his customer for Mr. Dobruski. And the lastest bali's from him have been all non-standard blade styles. The one I have flips amazingly well, and is really really an excellent EDC. His grind lines are impecable, and the most common praise so far is that his tolerances are really really good. Nothing sloppy at all in the way they're put together.

Yeah, I've got some real nice pics but they're all shot in Macro and by the time I edit one down to the byte limit here on the forums, they look like dog sh!t..........:( :barf: :(

EDITED TO ADD: To bloodyknuckles- Mr. Dobruski can/will make any blade configuration you desire, to a point (no pun intended ;)). If it's something tasteful, which the Imada High-Hollow certainly is, I'm sure he can grind it for you. His prices are more than reasonable but the shipping is rather expensive and should be figured into the equation

So, Dobruski won't grind dis-tasteful blades??

Just what is a dis-tasteful looking blade??

I expected more of a distinctful scimitar from him.

That blade just looks like a wide belly bowie blade.

I guess I just expected something with a little more "Umph!"

I am not big fan of scimitars but that one looks nice. Kinda reminds me of a stumpy bowie.

Everytime I see that knife I want to hunt down the owner (:D) and steal that blade.

The handles dont do much for me, but that blade...OHHHHHHHHHHH BOY.

Nice piece.

Grinding blades for Mauricio is "cake".., and that's fairly obvious by what we've seen him turn out. I am sending back a couple that I got from him because of latch, and handle-tolerance problems that are significant. That can be expected when close tolerances are ordered in my opinion (and I'm not a machinist, nor a knifemaker).

I think it's only fair to say that he has not made this type of knife for decades, and to quazi-quote "The Experts".., making Balisongs is a simple concept with subtle complexities.

I love this guys work.., and truly think he is working pretty darn hard to attain true "Custom" status for all of us who have handled many of them over the years.

I have never had to test the process of sending one back.., but my experience with Mauro (handling all the details).., has been great.
I'll certainly report back on how the process goes as far as "fix-it" stuff, but in honesty, I'm not worried.

This is a quality knifemaker, invested in making us happy, with some major talent. That's about as good as it gets.

Great knife Dudley.., and nice pictures...they I'd guess you can live with that!! ;)

And thanks Mauro.., got both your emails.., phenomenal repsonse time since I didn't call you yet...lol :) Very nice of you!

Have fun on your vacation and we'll talk in the New Year!
