I had to do it! Thanks for parting with it.
It is now a user. Stuck in a tree for a photo!

I had a mili-ganza meaner a while back but it didn't do much for me.
I do like this one with more meat and bling! Didn't cut much while out today but the little bit I did was a pleasure. Maybe I'm in the minority but I dislike convex edges on EDC blades. This slices just fine without it.

Nice!! Reminds me.....I need to take my Meaner out on the trail. Thanks for sharing....I'd love to score a satin Meaner.

She makes a beautiful user bro. I kinda had a feeling you would use it when I sold her to you. I also agree with you about convex edges. I am just fine using my knives that are flat ground. I still have not figured out how to get my convex knives back to shaving sharp after using them. But I have no problem shapening my v-grind knives back to shaving. I do have a strop and green and black compound but I just cant get them shaving sharp.

Anyway, I am glad you are enjoying her the way she should be enjoyed. The true beauty of Busse knives comes out when you use them.

To get my fully convex Busses shaving sharp I find I have to re-profile the "tear drop" shape...convex edges on my flat grinds without altering the main primary grind to fully convex seems to me to be the best of both worlds and easier to get a shaving edge...

Glueing a bit of leather on the platten of my sander to press the belt onto seems to work well for that type of flat grind/convex edge profile...and can thin down the fully convex knives by the edge to take a more acute convex shape...then they can shave...

I, like many, struggle doing it by hand. Despite how easy many make the mousepad/sandpaper way sound, it takes forever and just can't match the edge a powered belt sander will give you unless you have a lot of time on your hands. Just my opinion.

A belt sander certainly would make things much easier and quicker but I can't see buying one just for 1 or 2 blades. I've decided no more convex edges and only v-grinds unless i spring for a sander and the belts needed, in the future . I have the skills and tools to get a v-grind shaving sharp at home or out. I like that there is more steel behind the convex edge but it really isn't an advantage for me. I prefer v-grinds on Busse blades the same size and larger than say the ASH and especially on choppers like the FSH/FBM etc..
