I have a Doc Shiffer recon with a 1095 hamon blade. I was curious if anyone can provide guidance on sharping this bad boy on my wicked edge.
Im looking for angle and stone progression advice.

Don't have one... but from pictures I don't see anything difficult, other than maybe a little more belly than most knives. Have you seen the guides from W.E. FAQ page?
These should help with some of your questions. If you're new to the W.E. you may want to practice on another knife or two first. Also helps initially to match the angle on the knife (will probably still come out sharper than before), as your experience grows, you can decide on reprofiling, etc. Unless you're reprofiling the blade, or fixing some damage, you can start with a finer stone... progression just depends on the results you're after.
Hey Steve, wanted to mention this and post up for others... the Doc Shiffer Recon is hollow ground from the maker, but it has a extremely thick edge that will be hard pressed to cut well w/ out modifying the grind. Here is the only one that I have worked on... I reground it converting to a flat grind, and thinned it out considerably while at the same time setting the edge to 15 dps for superb cutting performance. Not only will it cut much better now, but it's a breeze to sharpen =)
