I wonder about what life was like when this was made, bought and carried by a Doctor or Pharmacist. Late 19th cent. or early 20th cent. It's a Russell Green River with the only blade being a pill counter/powder knife. Russell Green River Works was based near Greenfield Mass on the Deerfield River. I once tried to find any evidence of the factory but had no luck. The knife maker had a profound effect on the expansion of the American West.
