Can anyone please tell me what the significance of the markings on the blade of my Dodo are?

I'm thinking specificaly of the stylised 'E' by the Hole, and 'Earth' after U.S.A.

Looks good to me, but its not on any of my other Spydies

thanks

Bob

The "E" is the mark of the designer, Eric Glesser (Sal's son).

The "Earth" in the country-of-origin stamp is on a handful of the USA-made spydies. It's on the Military, Paramilitary, and Native I, at least.

Solves the 'E' - thanks

Why Earth on just a few models? Almost seems like an 'in' joke...

My old model Spyderco "Blackhawk" is marked "Boulder Colorado USA EARTH".

To my understanding all the ones stamped with "Earth" on 'em are the Golden, Co. made knives, the Seki City Japan knives are not marked like this. I personally like the Golden, Colorado USA Earth stamp on my para! ;)

The Manix is also made in Boulder, CO.

All the models produced in the Spyderco facility in Golden are marked "Earth." The other models produced overseas in Seki and Taipei are not marked accordingly.

I assume this is a reference to the fact that we are all citizens of the planet earth and are thus all united in some or perhaps many ways.
