I'm pretty sure I'll pick one up soon, but I read earlier that they were discontinued...they seem to be in stock everywhere online though.

Someone posted that their dodo didn't have steel liners, but do any dodos have steel liners? For some reason I thought I read they later got them, but may be wishful thinking. But on such a little knife, may not be necessary.

I tend to think they might have at least partial steel liners just because of the rolling lock (or whatever they call that :D ). Either way, my frn Delica is completely sturdy and it has no liners at all, and I'm sure the g10 is only stronger. I hear really great things about that little knife, though the Dodo/Cricket types never appealed to me  :D

I don't think it does, you can't even see any liner in the relief where the BB rides. It's completely solid, no liners needed.

Oh, being without the liners is okay, it's just that at 70+ dollars, I figure I'm paying for the liners. The D`Allara drop point is 50ish, is bigger overall, has the same lock...

Darn. I never understand how Spyderco prices their knives. I really think axis locks should have liners at least where the ball bearing/lock is.

I could have sworn it had nested liners, I just checked my roommate's Dodo, it does not have liners. I don't think it needs the liners at all though. Just one of those things.

The front half of the back is one heavy-duty back-spacer. The ball lock rides in this back-spacer.

True, but D'allara is VG-10/FRN vs. S30V/G10 in the Dodo.

In the dodo, I think I prefer it to be linerless, I think it would be wierd with a more hefty handle.

Everywhere I've seen it since being discontinued it has been running $87 plus to snag one.

I finally picked up a fully serrated one in blue just to make a safe queen out of it. I had a plain edge for a while and didn't much care for it. I don't usually like fully serrated blades but the Dodo for some reason appeals to me that way over the PE.

Its a cutting machine for such a short blade. Neither of the two I've bought had steel liners in them anywhere. Just G10 by it's lonesome.
