Dodo in Wal-Mart?

My cousin's husband works at a Wal-Mart distribution center, loading/unloading trucks. The other day he was telling me about an incident he had while loading a lot of knives. It seems one slipped out of the box and fell on his foot as he picked the box up to load it into the truck, and he said it was a really cool looking Spyderco. Now keep in mind he knows next to nothing of knives and good brands. I had just showed him my Native, bought at Wal-Mart, and I asked him to describe the knife he saw. as he said it wasn't a Native. He proceeded to perfectly describe a Dodo. So, anybody heard anything about Wal-Mart stocking Spyderco Dodo's?

Since the Dodo is not in production, and hasn't been for a while, I REALLY doubt anyone has a stash large enough to make a deal with Wal Mart. It would be more likely that the person who packed that box for shipment is looking everywhere for his knife.

It could have been a knife that belonged to someone who worked in the store or in the supply chain and had been misplaced.

Am sure that, due to it's discontinued status, Wal-Mart would not be carrying the Dodo. However, from what I understand, each Wal-Mart store is allowed a certain amount of "discretionary" purchases of items not normally sold by the chain. So, at least in theory, there is a possibility, albeit a fairly remote one, that the manager of one Wal-Mart store ordered one or more Dodos from a distributor who was closing them out.

I could only wish they sold them everywhere...I really want to get one for my dad...

It was probably a black or blue handled X-acto knife.....didn't Sal mention the inspiration for the Dodo design came from an x-acto knife.......side by side the're difficult to tell apart ! ...surely I jest !
