I got my Dodo from Gunting (Martin) with a custom kydex holster (sorry I can't post pics). This is an outstanding knife. Great feel in the hand, lock is well protected from accidental closure, legal size, great steel. No wonder it won an award! This is my new EDC, and as others have said, that is no small feat. I'm in line for a plain edge and one with black G-10! I always wished Spyderco would make a 'mini-Civilian' for everyday use and carry. The Dodo fits the bill! Thanks Eric and Spyderco!

I agree. I was given one for Christmas this year. At first I was apprehensive about it. But the more I use it the more I like it. Open's boxes and letters, clips coupons and packing material, strips wire and cuts a sandwich in half. Whatever the tip grabs is going to get cut. VERY impressive little cutter. Now carry mine in the left front pocket.
Right front has the MT Terzuola.

Seen these yet?

I just went to New Graham and ordered one in PE. Thank You Sal for producing them in black G10. I'm a happy man.

I feel your pain, I saw black Dodos on NGK, quick clicked the link, PE sold out! DOH!!! Why do they always produce and stock small quantities of what people really want? :)

I agree with you about the DoDo

My blue handled one has become my main knife at work. The handle is so ergonomic that it feels like I picked up a piece of silly putty and squeezed. Between that and the very useful blade shape it's quite a cool little package.

Mr. Glesser,
I have the PE and SE editions of the blue handle Dodo from the Collector's Club. Is there any chance that the Club will send out the black handle Dodo's also?

I am just glad the Dodo made it to market. I handled a prototype at the Spirit of Steel Show in 2002. On the various fora, before its release, the Dodo was one of the most ridiculed blades I can ever remember. Now the critics are pretty quiet. I got two blue PE Dodos from NGK, and when they get more black ones, will order another pair. Yes, pair. The wife likes them too.

My DODO is my favorite knife. I bought it while I was delployed to the Middle East. It is like a mini Civilian/work knife. I wanna get a kydex neck sheath for it.

Although I recently aquired a long awaited Chinook II and a stunning Persian folder, less than a week later I returned to carrying my Dodo. The Dodo had already replaced my Military as EDC some time ago. This is saying a lot. Blade length on folding knives isn't restricted in my jurisdiction.

I just got a numbered black PE Dodo off Ebay (along with a Scorpius)and I am seriously impressed! I bought the Scorpius to serve as a "dress EDC" and the Dodo for work (I'm at a new job and the co-workers seem afraid when I pull out a Chinook or a Gunting), but the Dodo hasn't left my pocket since it arrived. Honestly, I only got this knife because I've been reading everyone's positive reviews, and I'm glad I listened to you all! I used to think it looked kinda funny, but the handle ergos just plain work and the blade curvature is perfect--like a mini-civilian as someone said, plus the ball lock snaps open almost as smoothly as the compression lock on my Gunting. All in all, between the Scorpius and the Dodo that's two thumbs up for Eric Glesser!
