Sal would you ever consider this? Or maybe even something like continuous sprint runs(like the sage for say, maybe a couple a year with different color scales/blade steels). It seems like this is one of the most sought after designs, and the orange sprint seems to be well received. I know there is a planed carbon fiber run but after that will it go back into extinction?

I love Dodo and was fortunate to get both black and blue. Still IMHO Dodo is very special tool, which currently hot among Spydernuts and two sprint runs: orange and CF will satisfy their needs for a while.

Understatement.:D

Not sure how many folks will get satisfied.
The pre-orders (or those at vendors who do their pre's based on how many they will get;)) filled almost immediately.
I blinked and they were gone.:grumpy:

There is a CF DoDo in the works?

Rev, IIRC late 2012

I think that after two sprints market will be saturated and price for originals will go down. At least this happened with both Lums, Shabaria, and C83 Persian. If you do not remember at one time Shabaria was going for over $250 easy and now it looks like that dealers cannot get rid of them and few put sale CF knife for $130. The same story with Lums and Persian. Most likely Orange Dodo will be sold very fast(probably most of them already pre-ordered), do not know about CF, all depends on quantity and price.

I would hope that since most sites are sold out on pre-orders...Spyderco might consider increasing the original orange sprint run up by 600 or so knives...there are many of us that campaigned on the original spyderco forum that did not get signed up in time. Seems fair to me.

Hi Tricker,

The Dodo was Eric's first design. He also engineered the lock. At the time, he was running the Golden factory, so he also built the model. It is an interesting model with an interesting history. It's not an easy knife to build. I believe that as an occassional Sprint, it would better serve our customers.

Thanks for the response sal.....I m just glad to see it being made again, in any itteration....just one of the many reasons spyderco stays ahead of the pack

Its hard to believe that eric made something so unique, but also desirable on a first try.....must be in the genes
