Anybody have a Dodo and how do you like it? This may have been discussed but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I'm kinda' a moron when it comes to searching forums. This knife looks like a little bad-ass. I would love to put my hands on one but I have a feeling that's going to be tough unless I find one to buy.

I've owned two Dodos, an orange G10 and a carbon fiber and I've sold both. I love the design and the ergos are excellent but I found the hawksbill blade shape tough to get used to as an EDC blade. They are awesome knives without a niche.

I recently picked up a Techno. Spyderco got the little big knife concept right with this knife. It is small but really functional and if you want a little big knife I'd suggest it over a Dodo. If you just want a Dodo because they are cool, well, they are but just aren't as useful as they should be.

Thanks for the info. I was kind of thinking that would be the case with the blade shape. Not sure how useful it would actually be. The handle on the other hand looks to have perfect ergonomics. That's what really got me wanting to try one out. Yes, I am a sucker for things that look cool but they do have to have a useful purpose for me spend my bucks on them. Especially a knife in that price range. Thanks again. You may have just saved me $180!

No problem Spug, I wanted to love the Dodo, I really did, it just wasn't functional. Cool as hell though.... Especially the orange G10.

If you still want to spend that $180..... Don't over look that Techno.

You see them on that big auction site now and then but I've never been too enamored. Like the Cricket it's gotta be a booger to sharpen. (Butt-ugly too, but that's just my opinion.)

I have a cricket and actually love it. It works great for me in my line of work (telecom tech). Yes, it's weird shaped bit that tip bites into material remarkably well. And sharpening isn't too terrible for me on the Sharpmaker. Just use the spines of the sharpening rods. Gets a working edge on the little sucker in no time. Back to the Dodo, I'd love to get one. Seems more substantial in the hand, which I'd actually prefer over the little cricket. But they just seem a bit pricey for me. Oh well.

I'll check them out. I have heard good things about the Techno. Looks to be a really solid knife, no doubt.

xjzhx, yup, they are a little on the expensive side. If I could find a black or carbon one for like $100 I'd pull the trigger on it and give it a shot. The orange definitely looks cool but being a mechanic, that thing would get skanky in a day. Just can't get around the way that handle looks. Seems like it would flow with the hand perfectly.

I like mine, very useful, very light, ergos are exellent and it can be tucked away as a second blade.

Is there a "want to buy" section on here ? Now I'm looking for one hard. Tried to forget about it but can't. :-)
