YES, YES, YES!
I have just ordered (Well like a week ago) a Spyderco Dodo orange sprint run. I am so happy. Its my dream knife (kind of) and its finally coming. I'll post some pics when I get it.

(BTW this is totally off topic I know.)

Not really off topic. Nothing wrong with sharing your excitement over a new knife you have dreamed of.

Congrats. I am looking forward to the pics of your new knife.

Well, threads like his are useless without pics but not off topic. Congrats. :D

I'm still waiting to see if my pre-order is going to be filled by KC on a Orange Dodo. I placed the order early in January! LOL My Blue Dodo is lonely and anxious! Hurry up KC! Ok, feeling better now. :p

Host them on a site like Photobucket or Picasa then put the image link in between the IMG tags. ;)

Im in the same boat, my dodo is on its way to its new home :D and I cant wait!!

not to balst your purchase but what is they hype behind the dodo.

i have seen people ask $300 for a blue plain edge.

the reason the knife is rair is because it was such a failure.

in my opinion

useless balde shape
ugly as a knife can be
uncomfortble lock
etc.

yes i do know it was erics first design but it should also be rememberd it was a massive flop and a $40 knife from day 1 not near worth its current value

I think it's a damn nice looking knife, although the blade shape does look a bit less than useful. Great pictures too by the way.

Looks great IMO it's a knife that definitly won't get lost in the crowd I've always thought that pretty much all sprint runs are good investments seeing as they are produce generally very desireable patterns or blade steels and the Dodo is no exception I think you'll enjoy having such an "oddity" in the longrun not to mention you might could sell it for a profit if you had to.

It's actually a very useful knife in use, but its awkward looks (even for Spyderco!) and unintuitive function confused the public. It takes getting used to, but once you do it's actually a pretty genius design for a hawkbill-class folder.

Blade shape works. So it isn't useless. Useless is using a screwdriver to cut an apple. Any blade which is fairly sharp will cut and if it cuts it ain't useless.

I personally don't think it's ugly. However I won't argue it is ugly to you, your opinion. But I like the desgin shape cause it's unique, truly daring design. I think many others feel so too.

I love the BB lock, much more so than the encased BB lock. I unlock my BB lock's using my fingernails and it is comfortable. I get more discomfort from unlocking a really stiff Tri-ad lock.

Etc. I feel it is a bit too harsh to condemn the poor Dodo who has been revived from extinction again. My only complain that I agree with you is the price. 40 bucks like you said is unbelievably low but I'd prefer it cheaper compared with the current price too. Perhaps it wasn't so popular cause of the price.

Didn't feel motivated to post in discussion threads in a while but I really feel I gotta defend the Dodo and the Poliwog (not mentioned but in similar vein I think). Thank you.

:)

I am enjoying my Orange Dodo for couple weeks and absolutely love it. Probably my black and blue are little jealous.

People can ask whatever they want, but they have to work really hard and really long to sell blue PE for $300, unless they get lucky. This is not even close to fair street price.
If you do not like the look of the knife, this is understandable. There is no knife that everybody likes. I personally do not care about Striders and Sebenzas, which do not make them bad knives.
Before I proceed with reply on all other your statements, I would like to ask if you had a chance to use this knife? If not and all your statements based on your viewing the picture, than they are just pure ignorance and only reply can be given: get the knife, try to cut for a day and than express your opinion based on experience.

They sold for about 80 or 90 dollars at first. They are bringing more now, not just because the black and blue ones are rare, but because people actually like them for carry. Many rarer Spyderco's aren't bringing a big increase. (for instance the T-Mag) Just because people don't want to carry them. It does take more than rarity to make a Spyderco go up drastically in price after it's discontinued, they have to be wanted by many, for that to happen. The Dodo, to me is a perfect blade to carry in those buildings that are posted, no knives allowed besides those with very short blade lengths. (a lot of hospitals are)

What reality are you living in? The Dodo was a huge seller from the start, with many years in production. You sir are talking out of your ass.

Where are you getting that it was a massive flop? Do you really have any clue about what you speak of? The Dodo was very popular for many years. After it was disco'd it remained popular enough for Spyderco to continue with sprint runs. Educate yourself before spreading misinformation.
