Does a Bader "Horizontal Grinder" attachment exist?

Just what the title asks- is there a tool arm or attachment of some sort that will fit a Bader and allow you to use the small wheel like a horizontal grinder? I guess something like what the MAP arm is for a KMG. Can a MAP arm be adapted for a Bader? I just haven't seen anything like this, but maybe I'm not looking hard enough. If it doesn't exist- does anyone here have the capability to make one as a custom part? Thanks!

There is a hinged base plate that allows a Bader to be turned on its side and used as a horizontal grinder.

That is not what a MAPP arm does, BTW, But I think you are referring to having a tool rest wrapping around the small wheel. You could easily make one for any specific wheel on your bader, and attach it to the work rest bolts. It would be vertical, like the MAPP arm.

Ahhhh, that'll do it! Thanks guys. That link you provided looks like what I need Stacy- has anyone used and commented on that particular adaptor?

I hope this doesn't count as spamming since I haven't upgraded my membership for a manufacturer yet, but the tool rest system I include with my TW-90 grinder also fits Baders and KMGs. I hope to have it available by the first of the year. It provides vertical and horizontal tables for: contact wheel, platten, and small wheel.

Travis, your profile shows you with a KnifeMaker membership. Please go to User CP and down the left side to Group Memberships to click on your correct title. You're good to sell, but this isn't really the forum for it.

Thanks guys- Travis I know of your grinder and just wish I could afford it. I was wondering if your tool rest system/s would work with a Bader and was going to give you a call at some point or another.

On another note for anyone interested- Bader makes that hinged angle plate (bench mount) that was mentioned in the other thread linked to in this one. I called them directly to order it. They claim with it you can quickly switch the grinder from vertical to horizontal. You may need to switch up placement of the variable speed controller though. If anyone is interested, I'll report on it when it arrives.

Stacy has a good point. I made this one and it works great on my small wheel attachment and accepts all of my wheels because it is hinged. Maybe you can do something similar.

Check out the BMll all the way on the left. it has the hinged base. They did make me some attachments to use it sideways.

I've got the hinged plate from Bader on the way. Might have to modify my grinder table, but I'm pretty excited to see how it works out.
