Just curious. I carry one sometimes this way and been wondering if it would qualify as traditional kind of? No thumb studs.

The forum rules specifically state that a Walker liner lock is out though a traditional liner lock is fine (e.g. TL-29) so I would assume that discussion about a frame lock would also be directed to other areas of the forum.

Ok gotcha. Wasn't sure if it fell truly in frame lock or liner lock. Couldn't hurt to ask.

Feel free to nuke the thread if warranted. Thanks y'all!

The Walker liner lock and frame lock both lose the spring of a traditional liner lock. A lot of "modern" designs are based on old designs or at least have old precursors. For example... I've seen very old melon tester knives with shirt pocket clips (like the ones on pens). And there are some very old knives (some examples in the "old knives" topic) that have what might be considered a precursor to thumb studs.

Old ideas get modified and/or remade.

...Enclosed is a little patent information from 1892 for your Sheffield thumb stud model, please post the makers name when you get time.

The CRKT is definitely modern. Classical style to many, but not traditional in this subforum's guidelines.
