Does a Milli or Para-Mil open as easy as a Manix 2?

I love my Manix 2. It was clipped in my pocket for my wedding and the birth of our daughter, so it's time to retire it before it gets lost. It spent the night next to the curb downtown, luckily I found it this morning. I take that as a sign that I need to get something else. My wife agrees.

Let me say that again - My wife agrees it's time for me to get a new knife! :)

I really like how easy it is to open the Manix 2. Even if I'm wearing gloves and can't use the Spydie-hole, I can just give it a hard shake and it opens up. Will a Milli or Para-Mil open that easy?

Another thing I like is that even though it opens easy it has good blade retention. How good is the retention on the Milli and Para-Mil?

Any other suggestions? My only requirement is US-made and quick to open. I should keep it under $200. Thanks.

I find the Para easier/smoother to open than the manix 2, and the Military just slightly less, because you've got the liner lock pressing against the tang of the blade as it opens which gives it more friction, still very smooth though. My Para 2's I can just push the lock and they swing open with gravity. Both are great knives though, I just prefer the compression lock to the Liner lock.

* Almost forgot there's always the Manix 2 XL which is near the top of my list, same as your manix 2, but with an S30V FFG blade and 3.88 length blade.

The military is harder to open than manix 2, in terms of speed and smoothness. The Para 2 is easier than manix 2, and you could swing the knife hard to deploy the blade.
