Does Acid Etching Inhibit Corrosion Resistance?

Hello BladeForums,
I searched this question and found little answers. I've attempted to acid etch a couple blades, but never put them to work. How would the finish fare in an EDC role? My reasoning is that because the solution seeps into the pores and dissolves a layer, it will make the blade much more susceptible to rusting.

Here is some etch work to help those who don't know what I'm talking about. And to be clear, I will be using PCB Etchant Solution and etching the entire blade; not patterns as you see below:
