Hi all, Can anyone here confirm that Anodizing the TI handle slabs voids the warranty? Just anodizing, not polishing, scotch brighting, etc.

While a forum member may have an answer with some level of confidence, I would encourage you to simply call or email CRK. That way, you will have a high confidence answer . . . and they're great to get to know as well. :)

Ok, I spoke to Angela (I think??) at CRK. She confirmed that Anodizing doesn't void the warranty, she said that it doesn't void the warranty and if I don't like the anodizing, they can refinish it (spa treatment) to "close to new". So that is the answer I got.

I'm a little surprised to hear that anodising the knife doesn't void the warranty but it is a splendid show from CRK to let people do that.

I was surprised too. I think everyone should be careful and make the call yourself before you take my word for it, (just covering my behind). I think the key is that anodizing doesn't really change the fit of the scales as sanding or other grinding would do. It just changes the color.

Note that CRK anodizes via a room temperature electro-chemical process. I'm guessing that Angela's comments were relative to that method. I'd be surprised if she was including in her statement anodizing with heat . . .

Good point Fooj. I don't know much about anodizing but if an electro-chemical process is what CRK uses, I assume that is what Angela was referring to.
