Does anubody know which steel Gerber uses on this knife?

Howdy,

My wife gave me this Gerber last November and it has been at my side for most of that time. Even after buying more expensive knives by other makers I came back to this one. I have cut 8 and 12 gage wire and a can of salmon when I couldn't find a can opener with this thing. I like this knife but I wish I knew what the steel was. Please help! Thanks for reading,

Still,
From what information you gave us I dont think anybody can tell you. Spyderco has gone through a lot of changes these past few years and has used a lot of differant steels. Some US some Japan.
But I will say that they produce quality. Cant say anything better then that.

That's a Magnum LST, and Gerber doesn't specify the steel, except to say it's "stainless" (thanks guys, that really helps!). I'm with shootist16 on this one, probably 440A, 420HC, or something along those lines.
