Does any one have a Fort Turner Iroquois?

I'm looking for a hawk not for throwing but for a bit of woods bumming and CQC fun. The FT Iroquois looks to be a decent fit... but the listed weight is starting to get high.

Just wondering if any owners out there can comment on feel? Is it lively or a brick?

For reference it's model D on this page:

CS Trail Hawk heads just feel to small to me... the only other one I was interested in was the CS Frontier, but I'm betting the Fort Turners will be better made and ground.

The Fort Turners are far and away better than Cold Steel, for not a huge increase in price.

I have a custom Iroquois that I had him make with a hammer poll and sharpened beard. With the hammer poll, I'de say it weighs maybe 3-4 ounces more than a Trail Hawk. A standard Iroquois is probably fairly close in weight. BTW I like the FT hammer polls, because they are wide, with lots of area, but low profile -- essentially leaving enough material to make the back of the head flat.

The other I have is a Fort Turnere Norse Hawk with a hammer poll (told you I liked them :p ). It's slightly (1-2 oz) lighter than my Iroquois.

I think those two are the best looking hawks he makes and both because of their longer edges make for good use in choking up on them and using them for finer detail.

I will say that they come "fairly sharp" with a flat bevel. I put a convex edge on both of mine via the sandpaper and mousepad trick. The hardened edge is too hard to file on.

Thanks... if you're saying the standard Iroquois weighs about the same as a CS Trail Hawk, then I'm in. :)
I have no problem doing my own convexing, so looks like an order on the way... ye har!
