Does any one know anything about theCamillus C.U.D.A. Heat Assisted Open Combo Tanto

I have the standard blade heat, actually two of them....great knives. Good openers and sharp out of the box. They are made in Twain !! You can get them as cheap as $38 if you look. My only concern for EDC is they may not be legal everywhere, as their designed method of opening MAYBE a switchblade in some states. They also will open with a good snap of the wrist ( ie gravity or inertia), which makes them a gravity knife.....soooo be careful !!

They are, BUT they do not hold the blade so tight when closed to prevent it from being "flicked" open also, there for they can be considered a gravity knife. Most Kershaws hold the blade tight enough to prevent this.

not sure about the wording there....the best thing in CA is tere is a pretty detailed law that gives details as to wheter or not there is detent. Mr Clark knows this well....

Not a bad knife, and granted it is made in Taiwan, but it is sharp as nails and very fast opening. I believe in cali the knife has to be under 3 inches if i am correct.

There is a thread under Knife Law today from R W Clark about these ( assited openers) in CA.. He says there are OK there, and he is well educated in CA law and in actual cases.
