I haven't seen him around in a coon's age. He used to always be on late at night. It has been many months now since I have seen him here. Is he okay I hope?

I asked the same question some months ago. Only one person responded.
He didn't know either.

I finally got in touch with Laurence 2-3 weeks ago(telephone). He has had some surgery, it didn't go well. His back problems are worse than ever.
His eyes are giving him fits, and any looking at computer monitors gives him migraine headaches.

He has slowed way down on making knives, the materials are bothering him way too much now. Stuff like Micarta, and tropical woods. He has become very sensitive to these things.

Said he's going to make a knife now and then, mainly to please himself, and keep his skills alive.

I know exactly how he feels. :(

I shall miss him greatly. I hate that has caught up to him, as it will us too. I remember Rhino (Laurence) well. He helped tutor me here. A very good maker for sure.

I had been wondering the exact same thing. I had hung out with him a couple times, traded some knives and guns and had a table next to his for several shows. Great guy, hope he can get back up and running. He is after all pretty young as far as knifemakers go.

Also, anyone know what happened to Greg Mete (aka Kodiac)? He has been MIA for quite awhile as well.

I wondered the same thing back when Mike posted about it. I even emailed Laurence and got no response. That really worried me. I remember when I got sick. I just dropped off of everything until Mark emailed me to see what had happened.

If anyone talks to Laurence, give him my best.

This is one of the dangers of knife making. Sometimes your body just gives up!
