Just thought I'd share this. I've still got alot of BDU's, left from my service days, that no longer fit or are not servicable in one way or another. I cut the pants legs off just below the knee, turn them inside out, triple-stitch where I just cut them, turn them right-side-out and, bam, I've got a neat little bag that can be tied shut with the pull strings. I've also used the back pockets to make smaller bags but you've got to sew in your own tie string.

I haven't done that but almost all my field gear and clothing is milspec stuff. I guess it's a comfort thing with me (I still miss it horribly), but that's a good idea with the trousers...

I have several pockets scavenged from various stuff. They all come in handy, great for PSK's and tent repair kits and stuff.

I keep one loaded with five pounds of lemonheads...I'm trying to quit smoking and they give my mouth something to do...other than screaming

As a kid i used to tear my pants all the time. So i would cut the pants just like you did and had my mom stitch them. She took the other pant and cut a long strip of it. She would saw the strip to the pocket so i could carry it over my shoulder.

I don't do it but I've heard of it. I ussually butcher any old BDUs for their pockets. I took an old shirt, removed all of the pockets. I put the lower two on the upper sleeves (bicep area) of the better shirt and put the upper two on the calves of a preffered pair of pants. Now I have a much better shirt than anyone issues and essentially ACU style pockets on the pants without the stupidity. However, I'm sorry to say that folks have been doing this for years and it wasn't my idea by a long shot.

Here's what I do with mine..

Just when I thought that I've seen pretty much every type of mental illness, now comes "nut sling" man.:barf: :barf: :barf:

I'm focusing on the left and right and trying to use my training to stay focused on the good...

I got a bunch of sand bags that I use at the range made from cut up blue jean legs. Surprisingly, it works pretty well.

I have used old pants legs as pouches and water bottle holders since i was a kid. I also use pockets from pants. somewhere I have a zipper pocket from cargo pants full of throxing stars.

Rescue Mike,

Please don't ever post that picture again...looks like he's trying to slingshot "the boys" out the top of his skull.
