If so, I'd love to have your honest opinion on this rifle. I'd love to get some reviews from you all and not just from the interweb.

I have an older Howa 1500 Varmint in .243, strictly a bench rifle (colony varmints and paper targets). Synthetic stock and heavier than a piece of railroad track. Had trigger set to 11 oz, a good shooter for me to 500 yards. That was my realistic, self-imposed limit....might need to be <400 now. Shoot 55gr Nosler ballistic tips with Winchester brass/primers and W760.

Believe Howa also built this same rifle for Smith & Wesson and was the Weatherby Vanguard provider for some time.

Good rifle however as noted this model is heavy.

Best.

I'll take any opinions. Yes, even a .308. I also have to buy a scope but I can't afford an expensive one. I'm looking to spend no more than $250. What do you guys think?

Never mind. I bit the bullet.. to say. I bought a Nikon 4-12 X 40. I lucked on to one on sale.
