Does anybody here know anything about boots?

I am looking for a pair of boots to wear to the Prom, and more specifically I am interested in this pair, that kind of look like Danners:

Anybody have any experience with Cabela's storebrand footwear?

I am also considering these, but I don't know much about them either, other than that they look cool:

Hopefully, neither design would get me nominated for gay pride parade grand marshall.. :)

Why do you want to wear steel-toed duty boots to the Prom?
Or are we talking about two different things? :)

Actually, I was thinking regular toe, as steel can make the toes feel colder.

But, now that you mentioned it, it would indeed be a bad experience if a fat girl at the Prom slipped and fell on my feet with her fat ass.. :D

It would really be a disaster if you wore steel toed boots and accidentally stepped on her foot and that made her slip and fall on ... oh, well ... :D

Hi All-

I was going to offer a helpful answer to the post about boots, but after viewing the AmadeusM profile, I'm not sure whether he's a troll or not.

Dude, there's a reason why the military services have dress uniforms. ;)

But I'm not trying to put you off the boots purchase. Boots are awesome--I just don't think they'll go as well at the prom.

And your scenario is just one of many reasons to take a more medium-sized date...

Yeah, he's a troll. Especially on weekends. But, the boot question was for real, except for the Prom part.

I don't know about their boots, but my dad had a Cabelas down coat for a while. He wears everything in an XL, but this coat was so big that he couldn't reach the zipper. He's 5'10'' at 225, and gave it to a guy that's about 6'3'' who could reach the zipper. .

I like those boots, though. Not quite prom material, I go western for that ;)

Tommy hilfiger makes a nice prom apropriate boot ( if there is such a thing) its called the girder boot, and it comes in black . check it out.

Hey man, if you really are in high school and you actually have a dat to the prom.... DO NOT BE 'THAT GUY'! Just get a nice tux, I would reccomend a fancy one, and some nice shoes. You will thank yourself in 10-20 years when you see that picture of yourself at your prom in the tanker boots and whatever other weird get up you are pondering, with the weird hair and make up. Really this is good advice, and try to persuade your date the same thing. But if you really want some boots....

I reccomend the Enforcer II Gothic, if you are going as a weirdo, you may as well do it right!
