Does anybody know anything about "Tecnocut" knives I see in a knife shop in Italy?

In Verona Italy we found a knife shop with quite a few Made in Italy knives in a window display. There were Viper knives, traditional Italian work knives, and Senese knives. There were also some knives made by "Tecnocut" which is owned by Viper knives. I really liked a few of them, but they seemed too cheap to be made in Italy (about $47 for a nice G10 liner lock).

Does anyone know anything about Tecnocut Knives? Are they made in Italy like Viper and LionSteel?

This is the wrong forum for that knife. Someone in the General forum should be able to help you.

It doesn't get much more general than the "General Knife Discussion" forum does it?

I guess I'll have to buy one today and let you guys know. I would love to know the steel they use before buying some 440A... Time to practice some Italian.

As far as i know Tecnocut is not owned by Viper but Viper is manufactured by Tecnocut.
They are good quality knives, i have a Viper Pointer and i was amazed by the quality and finish of the knife.

on the viper website:

Tecnocut snc was founded in 1987 and we started right from the beginning with the manufacture of sporting knives under the brand Viper.

Macchina,

I know you're going to Magiano next month anyway to visit LionSteel so I suggest you make plans to visit Technocut/Viper, Fantoni and Fox as well. All are headquartered there!

I have the Viper Start and Rhino with wooden handles and they're real nice big 4" blade lockback folders.

Maserin, too!

Indeed. I had mentioned Maserin as well in another post to Macchina.

Maniago, Italy (70 miles northeast of Venice) with a scant population of 12,000 is world famous for knifemaking since the 15th century. LionSteel, Fox, Viper, Maserin, Fantoni, etc. are all headquartered there. I'd check them all out if I was there.
