I was browsing the Ganzaa pics on the BusseCollector site and came upon a knife I don't think I've ever seen: The Dog Skinner!
It was an offering at the Minumental Ganzaa in February of 2006.
I like it a lot and am wondering if anybody has any specs on it.
I can't identify the blade, but the shape looks almost like a Badger hybrid with a massive choil to me.
I love the unique shape of the handle with an almost double choil.
The Black/Tan looks great and the talon hole is covered....or swallowed by the choil.
I think it's a beautiful knife and one I would love to hear about if anyone has anything to share.
Maybe we'll even get lucky and the owner still lurks around here.

Here she is: The Dog Skinner:

OMG! Did he actually post a Rat question in the HOG forum?

Hang him!!!!! We don't need no stink'n Rats over here!!!!

Well, that would explain the lack of a talon hole and my inability to identify the blade shape.

Before I am subjected to ajbect humiliation, let me at least say that this is the only surviving picture I have from my childhood.
Please be merciful...................

The Dog Skinner was a Swamp Rat offering a few years ago.

It was the evolution of the Bog Dog, and offered with tan micarta scales.

A sweet blade. Rarely surface for sale.

The one pictured was a custom shop offering, thus the custom micarta.

I think... Danged vodka.....

The blade on the one pictured was D-2.

I'd won two of those at that 'ganza, but have since sold them.

Original 'ganza price was $197

The blade is not nearly as wide as the BATAC. The Mean Street is a close Busse equivalent, size-wise. Which IS sorta currently available thru the Company Store

.

I had 2. I have one left. It is a very nice knife. As mentioned above, this was a limited run for one of the first Extravaganzaaaas. The one you have pictured has a double-cut finished blade (satin finished, then bead blasted) and the multi colored micarta.

See this following link to various Swamp Rats from the past. The custom isn't listed, but there are specs from the original Dog Skinner. I never was able to get one of the original ones and they almost never pop up anymore.

I still love my Bog Dog as well.

All 3 were D-2

Thanks for all of the info, guys.
I don't have any Rats, but that is one that I would welcome into the trough.
A little D2 amongst the Infi sounds pretty good to me.

It would be a great knife to have. But, if you can't find that particular one, the regular Dog Skinner is quite nice as well and so is the Bog Dog!
