Hey y'all. I'm looking to buy the Ka-bar 1117 from amazon, but I can hardly find any reviews on it. I'm wondering if it is going to be a good knife. Do any of you own it, and if so, what do you think about it?

It is the relatively new one that looks like a small skeletonized version of the USMC fighting knife.

I love the design. Haven't had a chance to see one in person, but I've seen 'em around on the bay and other sites. Looks good to me.

Yeah, it looks bad. I love the Becker designs, but there is just something about the classic fighting knife style blade. I would expect more videos on Youtube or more folks on here reviewing them. It is strange to me. thanks for the response though.

You're totally welcome. Sorry I couldn't be more help. I tell you what, go over to the actual KABAR sub-forum and ask around. You'll find a lot of dedicated Ka-Bar users and I'm sure someone there can give you some feedback

knifecenter has 6 reviews, about all I could find. I want one, looks great.

i have one its very nice I cord wrapped the handle it makes a great camp knife and would serve well as a tactcial blade as well.

Welcome to bladeforums! I've liked the looks of those since I first saw it. Just ordered one myself, gonna look with some scales.

Ill wrap it at first, then move on to some scales. Either try my hand at it or commission some. Does it come with the TDI clip or any belt attachment?

Ka-Bar doesn't provide the TDI clip or a belt attachment. That has to be bought separately, but I have definitely considered getting one. I plan on using it for a neck knife mostly though. I figured it would be near impossible to find any scales that weren't custom made right now.

haha. Grownstar, I haven't figured out how to upload pics yet. It says that I have to put in the URL but my pics are downloaded to my computer.

I like the looks of it, but 4” is bigger than I like for a neck knife. Looks like a good candidate for some nice micarta scales and kydex sheath though.

It does look like a great knife and I wish there were more reviews on it.

I was told by a big Kabar dealer that the TDI clip will fit the sheath, but you have to purchase longer hardware as the normal bolts are not quite long enough.

I have a similar thread open. Scales are a must for this one if it is to see regular use.
