It turns out the version of mIRC here that's supposed to take you directly to the channel is outdated -- the channel has moved to newnet. If you already have an irc program set up on your computer log on to newnet and join #BladeForums.com or if you are not a complete computer weenie download mIRC at the mIRC website ... or if you are a complete computer weenie wait a day or two; the version of mIRC here should be updated by then.
I am somewhere in between cougar's weenie and a hard place. Please help.
I am a mac user. The mIRC dowload from BF is for Windows users. So I looked around and download IRCle for Macs. It is running. I found a whole bunch of newnet servers. Which one for BF chat?
Par, any of them should work. Just connect to a Newnet server (I use the one located in Chicago), then once you're in, you'll be given a list of channels to join. If you don't see #bladeforums.com , just type it in, then add it, then join.
DannyC, thanks. With a little help from Cougar, who told me the same thing you just did (ANY newnet server will do), I managed to make it into the chat room last night. Lots of fun.
Mike should be aware that the IRC software he is distrubuting does NOT work on Mac platforms. Download any of the macbin files in the download area at http://www.ircle.com/
After installation, fire up the program. You have thirty days to use the program before it will deactivate. To buy it, you need to pay $15.00 ONE TIME to pay for the software. It will remind you what to do.
In the connections window, click the server button to open a list of IRC servers. Select one of the newnet servers. Once you have logged into newnet, use the Command window to JOIN. In the window that opens, type in #bladeforums.com. That should do it. Good luck.
Paracelsus, IRC (idiotic, redundant, and confused)
