I posted this before and the moderaters moved it to the general area and I am getting mostly modern, tactical responses. There is a reason to post things in a traditional forum. We think differently. ;) Anyways, I added traditional to it so hopefully it will stay. I should have done that from the begining. That what I was thinking.

Well I am wondering if anyone does? Ever since I got my Case Slabside, I have thought about it. It is legal here in PA. It is small enough to not be real offensive I think. Keep your shirt untucked and it would cover most of it anyways. At 7 1/4" it would fit in some from pockets. Any thoughts? I am really liking this knife and my thoughts on fixed blades has totally changed on the past month or so. :D

no. too darn big to edc. knife supposed to be convenient. that aint. NOW if you're talkin outdoorsy stuff.....

Buckfan, I carry my Sharpfinger and my Ontario Rat-3 as EDC, Your slabside is about 3/4 of an inch shorter than my rat. Strap it on and carry it for a few days and see what ya think. I bet ya get used to it real quick. I find that alot of times a fixed blade is more conveinant than a folder. I would like to find somebody to rehandle my Rat-3 in some elk antler that I have to make it more traditional looking. Great knife but kind of tactical looking.

As I sit here and type I have two fixed and a SAK on me. The largest sheath knife is 8" OAL with a 3 7/8" blade in a pouch type sheath. I wear it on the belt behind my hip with the sheath tucked into my jeans pocket. Been carring it for the past week (since it came in the mail). Doesn't bother me in the least and is very convenient.

The other is a tiny little pocket sheath knife with a 1 1/2" blade and 4 1/8" OAL. It rides vertical next to my wallet in my left rear pocket. Again comfy and convenient.

Both are traditional style customs, O1 carbon steel, one a drop point the other a "mini" Nessmuck. They were made by Stomper here on the forums.

A pic is posted in your General forum thread. While I feel the knives follow in the footsteps of traditional blades, others might not.

I would carry a sheath knife but
They are not part of the Hi-Tech corperate style
They are illegal to carry here

I sometimes carry a Bark River Mini Canadian in a pocket sheath. I don't know if the Mini C is truly traditional, but it sure as heck isn't tactical!
