Great knives for price, light and sturdy.Does anyone exclusively EDC these knives?I keep mine in a car as a backup. Will bring both Eland and Kudu of my upcoming roadtrip in case it gets lost or stolen.

I did for a month or 2 with a Kudu. No issues use wise, but some funny looks for such a large blade.

It's a good knife, but more a glove/tool box knife for me, I won't EDC anything that doesn't have a pocket clip unless it's a keychain SAK or something like that.

Naw. Too awkward to open and close. So many better choices to carrry everyday.

I carry one of my Kudus from time to time. I consider them excellent knives because they manage to give you plenty of blade, a superb steel for the price, real estate on the handle and a very strong lock all under 2.5oz. Wicked value, too.

I don't carry one, but use either the Eland or Kudu every day for opening letters, boxes, and other general chores around house or shop. Have them out and sitting on the table next to my main chair or on my computer desk in the shop. Excellent value knives!!

I EDC'd an Eland for a week or so last year, and was reminded of why I stopped carrying my Kudu very quickly - it falls out of my pocket because there is no clip. I've considered fashioning a clip or keeping it in my backpack as a backup (4116 is -very- corrosion resistant), but haven't done either and have no motivation or need to. It'll probably just sit in my gentleman's organizer and be neglected until I just give it to someone.

They're fine knives, but the edge retention and the scar on my thumb keep me from really thinking much about carrying them. Besides, I like my clipped knives and have one for every day of the week already...

I'm thoroughly impressed by the Eland and Kudu. I've wailed on mine, and they perform well above their price. I don't carry them as normal edc knives though, they're just too big for a clipless knife.

I carry my kudu regularly because it's very light yet sturdy and I barely notice it when I carry it in the sidepockets of my cargo pants. I use it for cutting cardboard, cutting meat and vegetables and when in the garden. A versatile companion

I thought about carrying mine as a big, light, tough, slicey beater, but I can't get over the scary+slow unlocking process.

I wound up with a Byrd Cara Cara 2 for the role and I love it, basically a *slightly* less secure lock that's much faster and safer (for me to fiddle with).

I wish the knife was made with slightly better steel, 12c27 or something similar.Otherwise a really nice beater and good for general edc.I use it as my travel knife, cutting vegetables, fruits,as barbeque and steak knife.Eland is in my luggage and kudu in my pocket. It can be opened with one hand after some practice.I even cut some bones with it,hammering on the spine, small dents but not much damage.Few passes on belt sander and its like new.Wish there was slightly better version of these knives ,that costs just little more. The lock on these knives is pretty good too and reliable.

I have a Eland in L front pocket and X2 Voyager clipped to R/front pocket Kudu now rest at home I use the Eland for general chores But would use if needed For SD I have a few Spanish Navaja knives with same ratchet set up . With 2 hand you can open pretty quick . Their way gives you your knife in guard position and off hand for pary or blocking .
